Sun and heat are definitely involved in creating my happy place. Many may be firm lovers of the opposite, but I was ecstatic to travel into the Arizona sunshine to visit my sweet friend Carisa. It's been almost a year since we were last able to exchange hugs and chat in person and to do it in Scottsdale, soaking up the beautiful weather by the pool, was even better. Of course, we also took time to hike, BBQ, shop, and even hit a little happy hour action. It was the tiniest of vacations for only 2 full days, but it was packed with some of my favorite things with one of my favorite people. Oh, and if you ever find yourself in Scottsdale for a morning meal, I highly recommend The Breakfast Club. Not only was my faith restored in restaurant-made omelets, but the pancakes were heavenly (like they may have had a little magic baked in). Let me tell you, Arizona did not disappoint!
